In the past, scientists have found a lot of special fish that live on the ocean floor, even though some of them still have legs, they have not gone away.
But recently, a new, much more special species was found, the hand-held fish, scientifically known as Thymichthys Politus, thought to be the world’s rarest fish, which lived only on a 50-metre coral reef in Frederick Henry Bay near Hobart, southeastern Tasmania.

Especially these fish can eat creatures that are larger in size than their mass. This man had put into the pool a silver shrimp, and after seeing the target, the fish came close slowly so as not to let the meal slip away. One bite at a time could have swallowed a shrimp much larger than its weight.
Recent surveys at the site have found eight individuals, helping scientists estimate that the reef contains between 20 and 40 rare fish.
The second site is an area of coral reef not far away. Estimating the number of fish is the same. Some residents reported seeing fish in the area so the group of 7 divers spent two days searching the reef.
Rick Stuart-Smith, researcher at Tasmania University, Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies, said, There may be other undiscovered populations of red-handed fish. However, Stuart-Smith, who coordinates the annual investigation project, said that this new population is likely to be isolated because the fish cannot swim long.
Stuart-Smith said, “If they’re disturbed, they can break up a little bit, then they’ll swim 50 centimeters and nest. They go by the siege hard under the sea. “
